Focused Care for Kids in Emergencies

South Dakota Emergency Medical Services for Children (SD EMSC) works with pre-hospital organizations to ensure children receive the best care possible emergency care. We work to provide agencies across the statewide with the tools and education needed to be pediatric- ready.

Our Goals:

Pediatric Readiness
Ensuring EMS agencies have the resources, guidelines, and training needed to care for sick and injured children. 

Quality Improvement
Supporting agencies in adopting evidence-based practices and continuous learning to improve pediatric emergency outcomes.

 
Training and Education

Offering training and workshops to strengthen providers' ability to manage pediatric emergencies and promote a culture of readiness. 

Coordinated Care Systems

Helping build systems that improve collaboration between, EMS, hospitals, and healthcare providers. 

SD EMSC is committed to ensuring EMS providers across South Dakota are prepared to deliver excellent pediatric emergency care and improve outcomes for children statewide.
